Skybox Matte Painting

Ive been working on multiple game teams this year, and on one of them, we needed a skybox. I havn't done a skybox, or a matte painting before so I figured I could get a lot out of this. The game takes place on the side of a building in the middle of a city.

Texturing Assignment I'm taking a texturing class for games this semester, and we were given a model to plan out for texturing. After the planning phase, we created any textures that we needed (tiling, decals, independents, mixed, and detail maps), including diffuse (color), spec, and normal. This is the paint-over I did of his model. I rendered out beauty pass, overlayed an AO pass, and started laying over textures. Some things I had to manually paint, but the rest was color corrections, and making sure the perspective was correct.

Process Work: Skybox

Because I didn't record myself painting, I'll just have to go with what I've got. The last two images are game items. The top is the skybox in-game, which has the clouds rotating, and the bottom is what the final matte painting looked like when I used the Polar Coordinance filter on it.
